Seed funding for research-practice projects

Planting

There is a need for more interdisciplinary projects where researchers and other societal actors work together to address the major challenges of our time. Therefore, we support such projects with resources like funding, knowledge of fundraising, and practical assistance with collaboration and communication.

Each year, we select projects that address current political and societal issues in collaboration with actors from the university’s external environment. The recipients of seed funding are expected to participate in a programme organised by Queen Mary's Centre, which will include joint workshops and inspiration meetings with other seed funding recipients, as well as individual guidance and support from the centre’s staff.

Role of Queen Mary's Centre

In addition to financial support, Queen Mary's Centre contributes to project development based on its experience in building research-practice collaborations and fundraising. Seed funding recipients are expected to engage in a programme organised by Queen Mary's Centre, which will include joint workshops and inspiration meetings with other seed funding recipients, as well as individual advice and support from the centre’s staff.
