Crown Princess Mary Center changes name
In connection with the succession of the throne the Crown Princess Mary Center at the University of Copenhagen will change name.
From March 20th Crown Princess Mary Center has a new name: Queen Mary's Centre
The new name and continued collaboration was marked on the day of the name change with a visit from H.M. Queen Mary. During the visit the Queen met with the employees of the centre and attended a meeting with Rector Henrik C. Wegener, the deans of the centre's steering committee welcomed and some of the researchers with whom the centre collaborates.
Among other things, the conversation focused on key research insights and partnership opportunities within digitalization and green transition, which are some of the themes that Queen Mary's Centre focuses on in its work.
Knowledge. Partnerships. Change.
The Queen Mary Center was established on February 2, 2022 on the occasion of HM Queen Mary's 50th birthday. The purpose of the Centre is to create partnerships between research and practice and co-create knowledge that can contribute to positive societal change.
The Centre's programs include a Policy Fellowship, where leaders from public, private and civil society organizations become fellows at the University of Copenhagen for 8-10 months and through 1:1 conversations with researchers can seek new knowledge and inspiration for specific work challenges.
The Queen Mary's Centre also supports new knowledge projects where interdisciplinary research teams, in close collaboration with organizations in the university's surrounding world, explore current issues such as citizen engagement in the green transition or safety at home.
The center's activities are funded in part by a donation of DKK 25 million from the philanthropic organization Realdania.
H.M. Queen Mary will continue to be part of the center's Advisory Committee, which advises the center on development and partnership opportunities.
