International Network for Public Impact Professionals

From March 2025 until January 2026, Queen Mary’s Centre and the University of California, Davis co-facilitated an international network for researchers and staff working in public impact centres. The one-year pilot programme sought to break down communication barriers built by geographic distance and create opportunities to share research and best practices on societal impact emerging from different regions.

The programme included quarterly online meetings with colleagues from 5-7 university-based centres around the world, including Stellenbosch University in South Africa, University of Hamburg in Germany, and Stanford Impact Labs in the United States. The participating centres took turns hosting the meetings. Each host chose a relevant publication to discuss at the meeting and presented a current project or projects related to societal impact being developed within their institution. This format allowed for the group to both discuss theories and impact models, but also to ground those theories in the day-to-day activities and programmes of public impact centres.

Queen Mary’s Centre is now exploring opportunities to continue the programme in a longer-term peer support format. If you are interested in participating in the international peer network, please contact Maja Ejrnæs.
