Copenhagen Impact Lab

Copenhagen Impact Lab was established by Queen Mary’s Centre in collaboration with the VELUX FOUNDATION. The network aimed to promote research-practice collaboration and strengthen the frameworks for research knowledge involved in problem-solving. The network ran from January 2022 to December 2023.

Copenhagen Impact Lab brought together a group of leaders from universities, foundations, and public and private organizations. It was a network for decision-makers working directly with research-practice collaboration in their daily work.

Many public institutions, companies, associations, and foundations are currently involved in projects that generate new knowledge through direct collaboration with academic research environments. The background for Copenhagen Impact Lab was a lack of a systematic collection of experiences related to research-practice collaboration and the need for a forum for those experimenting with different approaches and methods.

The network met four times a year to share experiences on the latest initiatives in the field, discuss best-practice examples from Denmark and abroad, and develop new tools and knowledge to add value to ongoing and future projects.
